Position: Maintenance III

Location:, Waukegan, IL & Libertyville, IL

Salary: $21.17 - $26.14/Per Hour

Job Summary: Responsible for providing building maintenance in such areas as skilled and semiskilled HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and utility systems of buildings. May supervise and provide less skilled maintenance mechanics with proper training in procedures and methods of maintenance. Prepare and forward material and parts requisitions; ensure proper inventory controls are in place for various materials and supplies. Inspect work while in progress and upon completion to ensure that it is in compliance with specifications. Inspect safety of all equipment, machinery and tools. Operate power driven and motorized equipment.

Becoming a Maintenance III would allow you to be involved with maintenance and repairs within local government, ranging from formulating and implementing preventive maintenance programs for utility systems, equipment and building maintenance; maintain accurate records regarding annual inspection of equipment, assist in the maintenance and general procurement of materials and parts, assign work duties and inspect work of subordinates. Your day will consist of completing routine work orders, building inspections, and dispatch of emergency calls, and winter snow and ice management. You will have endless opportunities to impact and make a difference within Lake County. Being able to build working relationships with employees, 30 countywide departments and the public, is sure to keep you interested and continuously learning.

In order to be successful in this role you should have a 8-10 years of experience. Individuals should have a working knowledge of carpentry, basic plumbing and electrical; possess the ability to effectively problem solve and have the ability to work both individually and in a team atmosphere. Must have a valid drivers license.
