The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation and Neighborhood Services Departments are recruiting for several temporary part-time positions to work with our Summer Day Camp Program, Camp Fort Worth and the Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp Program.

The Departments are recruiting over 100 positions at multiple Community Centers and Mobile Recreation Camp locations.

The positions will work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. (Seasonal Position with no benefits)

We are looking for enthusiastic Camp Leaders who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while encouraging kids to stay safe, physically active and intellectually engaged while having fun.

Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation are Summer Day Camp programs located at 20 community centers and two schools throughout the City of Fort Worth. The camps run seven (7) to nine (9) weeks depending on location and are offered between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Camp Leaders will supervise children in the following summer day camp activities; recreation and educational programs, structured inside and outside activities and events; arts and crafts, games, youth sports and other recreational events.

The qualified candidate must demonstrate knowledge of arts, crafts, games, and a variety of sports. He/She should also have the ability to develop lesson plans, procedures and goals. He/She should be comfortable supervising activities in aquatic environments.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school is required.

Six (6) months' experience (equivalent to 1,040 hours worked including volunteer, internship, and observation through college course work) with children 5-13 years old leading activities in a recreational and/or educational environment.

Must be age 18 or older (17 if a high school graduate).

Mandatory orientation and training is required prior to the start of the program. Must work the entire length of program. Candidate must be comfortable in the water and willing to get into the water during all aquatic related activities and field trips.
