About Our Job
Parks Amenities Utility Workers play an essential role in supporting the operation and maintenance of Denver's extensive network of parks amenities - such as, but not limited to, play grounds, trails/related pathways, and other related parks amenities and structures. These positions are a great opportunity for those looking to gain a solid base of skills and knowledge in the hopes of a more stable career in park maintenance or infrastructure maintenance and construction.

These positions will report to 4495 Jason Street, Denver, CO but will work at various locations throughout the city. The full pay range of this Job Classification is $15.38 - $22.45, our target starting pay for this position is $15.38 per hour.

Skills to be developed and utilized:
  • Working outdoors and sometimes indoors on various parks amenities using and maintaining various hand-powered tools and motorized equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assists in responding to amenities maintenance requests and scheduled projects or tasks
    • Assists with troubleshooting, repair and installation of various amenities such as, but not limited to, fencing, concrete, welding, asphalt, and playground equipment and structures
    • Supports operations related to inspections to ensure safe and effective functioning and condition of amenities
    • Supports operations to maintain, clean or restore infrastructure and amenities
  • Snow removal operations such as plowing, shoveling, de-icing, as needed
  • Various related duties assigned as needed such as trash collection, bathroom maintenance and cleaning, vandalism repair/graffiti removal

This is an on-call position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules
About You
We are looking for reliable and driven individuals looking to develop a well-rounded skill set in infrastructure and amenities maintenance operations. Our ideal candidates will enjoy learning and applying best practices and will be adept with safety considerations. Some or all the following experience preferred:
  • Experience with one or more of the following maintenance/operational functions: fencing, concrete, asphalt, welding, playground equipment
  • Proficiency with various hand-powered tools and motorized equipment
