Supervises a small linen room distribution activity at a hospital.
Essential Job Functions
Assigns and supervises employees in the receiving, counting, sorting, marking, issuing and delivering of linens.
Assigns quotas for linen delivers to hospital areas.
Conducts supervisory rounds to inspect ward linen rooms to prevent shortage or over supply, or over accumulation, of linens.
Makes recommendations for the efficient use of linen on the wards.
Resolves complaints regarding linen delivery service.
Monitors the delivery of soiled linen to the loading dock for weighting and pick up by the contracted laundry service provider.
Supervises the inventory and shelf rotation of linens.
Supervises the supply, issuance, and return of hospital garments to staff.
Supervises the processing of emergency orders.
Requisitions supplies and materials to maintain sufficient linen supply levels.
Trains new employees in linen delivery and related work.
Assists in the condemnation of linens.
Supervises and participates in the keeping of linen delivery, usage, billing, and other records.
Serves as the contract monitor for laundry service contract.
Prepares reports as required.
One (1) year of experience in the counting, sorting, marking, issuing, and control of linens in an institutional* or commercial** laundry.Physical Class III - Moderate:
Includes standing or walking most of the time, with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching; includes working on irregular surfaces, occasionally lifting objects weighting over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-15 pounds.Desirable Qualification:

- Basic computer knowledge.
*Institutional laundry in the County of Los Angeles is defined as experience working in hospitals, jails, prisons or residential care facilities.
**Commercial laundry in the County of Los Angeles is defined as experience working in hotels oroffice buildings.
Additional Information EXAMINATION CONTENT:
This examination will consist of an oralinterview covering Job Preparation, Knowledge and Skills, Problem Solving and Oral Communication weighted100%. Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher onthis examination in order to be added to the eligible register.

. ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION:

basis and those receiving a passing score will be promulgated to the eligible register accordingly.
The names of candidates receiving a passing score in the examination will be added to the eligible register in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation.NO PERSON MAY COMPETE IN THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY TWELVE (12) MONTHS.
Appointees may be required to work any shift
including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
