Position: Executive Administrative Assistant
Location: Waukegan, IL
Salary: $21.75 - $28.40/hour
Job Summary: Lake County is seeking a highly organized individual to perform complex administrative and general office duties. In addition to providing administrative support, the successful candidate will provide clerical support at Committees and Commissions. Excellent verbal and written skills are required.
The successful candidate must possess excellent word processing and organizational skills, be responsible for maintaining multiple filing systems, developing committee/meeting agendas, processing of committee records and organizing meeting minutes. The candidate will be responsible for scheduling meetings, trainings and tours. The individual will be a self-starter and an innovative problem solver.
The candidate will interface with a variety of public officials, administrators, and departments/agencies, answer telephone calls, draft correspondences and promptly respond to public inquiries in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to provide oral and written reports and presentations. An ability to maintain pleasant working relationships while performing under stressful work situations is necessary. This position requires knowledge and use of several technological devices and software. The individual must be willing and able to provide some technical support and assist/train others in the use of hardware and software applications. The candidate will assist in the maintenance and storage of supplies. A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn is essential. Must be able to work independently and in group settings. Spanish speaking preferred.
The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. In addition, this position requires a minimum of five years of related clerical/administrative experience.
