About Our Job

The City & County of Denver - Parks & Recreation Department offers Youth Sports programming for kids, ages 3 - 17 years. Our team of devoted Coaches enrich the lives of youth through engagement of sports, learning the fundamentals of numerous sports including Baseball, Basketball, Coach Pitch, T-Ball, Softball, Flag Football, Gymnastics, Tumbling, Cheerleading, Volleyball, Track & Field and Soccer.   • Northwest: Ashland, Aztlan, Glenarm, Scheitler, Stapleton
  • Northeast: Central Park, Green Valley Ranch, Hiawatha Davis Jr, Montbello, St. Charles, Swansea
  • Southwest: Athmar, Barnum, Harvey Park, La Alma, Rude Park, Southwest
  • Southeast: Cook Park, Eisenhower, Harvard Gulch, La Familia, Montclair, Washington Park


Denver Parks and Recreation is seeking Gymnastics Assistants to work at our Southwest Center who will:
  • Assist in curriculum for parent-tot tumbling, preschool tumbling, and beginner gymnastics classes
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment for all participants
  • Enforce program rules, department policies and provide conflict resolution and behavior management when necessary
  • Assist with set up and break down of all equipment
  • Attend all mandatory trainings and workshops
  • Evening and weekend work may be required


This is an on-call position which will work no more than 20-30 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules and will work 20-30 hours per week.
About You

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Knowledge of gymnastics or previous experience in gymnastics
  • A flexible work schedule with availability in the afternoons and on weekends

  • Experience: None
  • Licensures/Certification(s): Must be at least 14 years of age. Requires certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or within six months of hire date
  • Licensure and certification must be kept current as a condition of employment
