ABOUT THE POSITION
To lead and perform a wide variety of responsible and difficult clerical work in support of assigned function; and to perform the more difficult and complex clerical duties within the assigned work unit. There is one position available in the Agricultural Commissioner’s Office. This recruitment may be used to fill other Office Assistant III openings within the county without reposting.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
May train less experienced clerical staff in processes and procedures of assigned function; review work products ensuring quality, quantity and compliance with policies and procedures.
Apply departmental policies and procedures in determining completeness of records and reports.
Provide information and forms to the public; assist in the completion, collection and processing of plans, applications, forms and information.
Type, proofread and word process a variety of documents including general correspondence, meeting minutes, agendas, reports, memoranda, and statistical
charts from rough draft, recordings or verbal instruction.
Perform a wide variety of general clerical work including the maintenance of accurate and detailed logs and records, verification of accuracy of information, research of discrepancies, and recording of information.
Act as a receptionist; answer the telephone and wait on the general public, providing information on departmental and County policies and procedures as required.
May receive and issue receipts for the payment of County fees; balance cash drawer as required.
Operate a variety of office equipment including copiers, postage meters, facsimile machines, and computers; input and retrieve data and text; organize and maintain disk storage and filing.
Compile information and data for statistical and financial reports; maintain a variety of statistical records; check and tabulate statistical data.
Contact the public and outside agencies in acquiring and providing information and making referrals.
May perform vision and audiometric tests; may assess required immunizations as required.
Order, receive and organize office materials and supplies.
Receive, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
